Reconciliation – The sacrament of reconciliation is available each weekday after Masses and on Saturdays from 10.30 am to 11.00am, 11.30 am to 12 noon, 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm and 6.45 pm. Please also note that a priest is on duty each weekday in the priory for anyone who wishes to avail of the sacrament of confession.
Morning & Evening Prayer – The divine office is chanted by the community every day, and we encourage anyone who is present in the church at the time to join with us in the prayer. It is an ancient and beautiful tradition that serves to remind us that each day belongs to God. Prayer books are provided.
Mass for Healing – On the third Thursday of each month, at 7.30 pm, there is a mass celebrated in the church especially for healing. There is so much sickness and hurt and brokenness within us and around us : this is a time to bring it all into the celebration of the eucharist, and to pray for healing and wholeness. There is an opportunity for individuals to be prayed with and supported in their particular needs.
Mass in Spanish – On the third Sunday of each month, Mass is celebrated in Spanish for the Spanish speaking people living in the city. The Mass begins at 2.30 pm and is followed by refreshments afterwards in the community refectory.
Youth 2000 – Every Monday at 7.30, Cork members of Youth 2000 have an hour of prayer and quiet before the Blessed Sacrament in St Martin’s chapel, followed by a cup of tea. If you are between the ages of 16 and 36, you are invited to come and meet others of your age in this prayerful time.
Counselling – There is a variety of counselling services and support groups situated in the Pastoral Centre (at the corner of Pope’s Quay and Mulgrave Road).
Lay Dominicans – There is a local chapter of Dominican Laity which meets in the Pastoral Centre on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7.30 pm, to pray and plan. If you are interested to learning more about this group, which is open to all lay people, please contact Mary Meehan (021 450 1081).
Church Choir – Our choir is well known throughout the city and further afield. It has been singing at the 11.00 am Sunday Mass for over 30 years, and we are justifiably very proud of it. If you wish to know more about it, please contact the director, Sean Lehane (087 643 3924).
