Fr Maurice Colgan Op Prior

Fr Maurice was ordained to the priesthood in September 2011 and Saint Mary’s was his first assignation as a priest. He 2017 he moved to our Friary in Dundalk. However, in April 2018, he returned to Cork, after he was elected Prior of St Mary’s.

Fr Finian Lynch Op

Having exercised many ministries in the Irish Dominican province including serving in our overseas missions (seven years in Argentina), Fr Finian has been a member of this community since 2004.

Fr Robert Talty Op

The oldest member of our community, Fr Robert is well known in Cork city, having been chaplain to St. Patrick’s Hospital (Marymount) until its re-location.

Fr Louis Hughes Op

Fr Louis was assigned to our community in September 2015. A friar with vast experience, he has ministered in India, was a chaplain to a third level institute in Dublin, held the office of prior in a number of communities of the Irish Dominican province and a popular retreat master. His expertise in meditation in the Christian tradition is of great interest to him and has written extensively on this topic.

Fr Brendan Clifford Op

Fr Brendan was assigned to Saint Mary’s during the summer of 2016 having been resident in our Limerick community for some years. Fr Brendan is well known in Ireland and abroad for his pioneering of the Lectio Divina method of understanding the sacred scriptures.

Fr Philip Mulryne Op

Fr Philip, from Belfast, was ordained in 2016. In 2019 he was appointed as Novice Master.

Fr Luuk Jansen Op

Fr Luuk was ordained to the priesthood in July 2014 and took up his first assignation with our Dominican community in Newbridge. He moved to Cork in the summer of 2018 after spending time working as Vocations director. Among many other pastoral duties he is Bursar of St Mary’s.

Fr Damian Polly Op

Fr Damian was ordained to the priesthood in July 2016 and Saint Mary’s is his first assignation as a priest. Among many other pastoral duties, he is director of the Dominican Centre in Cork.
